The news that Italian cuisine has been awarded UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage status seems particularly fitting at the end of a remarkable year. 

Throughout my travels and conversations in 2025, I’ve been struck by the sheer energy and excitement around flavours, fusion, innovation and, most importantly, authenticity. From regional specialities to a surfeit of chef talent now present in the UK, 2026 promises so much.
